Our Security Officers also provide supervision for at-risk patients in the hospital environment.Perform other job-related duties as assigned.QualificationsEDUCATION & EXPERIENCECompleted High School Diploma or GEDMust be able to obtain and maintain any applicable licenses or certificationsStrong vision abilities including color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focusMust be able to stand and/or walk for an entire work shift, move or lift objects up to 80 lbs., help restrain or lift a personValid driver's license and ability to meet Tarian driving guidelines if applicable (for Driving Roles).Desired Qualification of the Security Officer:Previous work experience with the public in a service settingEmployment Verification For applicable roles, previous employment must be verified through our background vendor. If any employment cannot be confirmed, candidates may be required to provide proof of employment (such as a pay stubs or W-2s).Armed (Handgun) Qualifications:At least 21 years of ageAbility to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a weapon.Ability to pass the initial and semi-annual Tarian approved firearms training course to demonstrate proficiency in use of firearm.Ability to participate and meet the requirements of additional firearms training at the discretion of the firearms instructor.Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of the Tarian policies.Taser Qualifications:Ability to meet qualification standards when initially placed in a Taser position and annually thereafter.Ability to obtain and maintain any applicable local or state license or permit to carry a Taser.Ability to participate in and pass additional Taser training at the discretion of the Taser instructorand/or Tarian.Ability to demonstrate a working knowledge of Tarian's Conducted Energy Weapon (TASER), Tarian's Taser Policy.PHYSICAL DEMANDS & WORK ENVIRONMENTWork hours will vary depending on assignments, client schedules, project deadlines, and the needs of the company. Workweeks may exceed 40 hours and may involve any of the 7 days of the week, depending on the needs of the business. The work environment may be fast-paced and stressful or may also be quiet and slow-paced. All environments and pace of work will require alertness and ability to perform under pressure.While performing the duties of this job, the employee must be able to sit, stand, and walk for variable amounts of time throughout an assigned shift; use hands to finger, handle or feel objects, tools or controls; reach with hands and arms; climb stairs; occasionally stoop, kneel, or crouch. The employee must occasionally lift and/or move objects 25 pounds or more. Specific vision abilities required by the job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
