Assembler

Position Summary: The Assembler is responsible for the assembling of light duty truck and van equipment.

Essential Job Functions and Duties

Locate, unbox and assemble various aftermarket, steel and aluminum truck and van equipment; this includes shelving, ladder racks, partitions and other equipment

Assist the install technicians as needed

Read and follow basic mechanical instructions and do so in accordance with company standard operating procedures

Complete other duties as assigned

Position Qualifications and Entrance Requirements:

High School Diploma or equivalent required; Vocational school a plus

Experience with operating a Forklift preferred

Candidates must successfully complete criminal background check and submit to a motor vehicle background check

Skills:

Solid verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills

Ability to lift heavy boxes/shelves/racks

Ability to stand for most of the day

Use hand tools, cordless tools, cutting tools and pneumatic tools

Solid background in using basic mechanical skills ensuring solid comfort in using a variety of tools; not limited to saws, drills, utility knives, hand tools

Comfortable in using tape measure and measuring accurately

Physical Demands/Work Environment:

Able to function capably in a production environment; working around moving vehicles, assembly and installation bays

Frequently lifting and/or carrying of objects weighing up to 50 pounds

Must be physically capable of standing, bending, kneeling, crouching, leaning, etc. on a daily basis

Ability to work in a loud environment

Participate in required company safety and training programs and PPE guidelines
