Clinical Nurse Coordinator Cardiac Telemetry

St. David's Medical Center, part of St. David's HealthCare, is seeking a Clinical Nurse Coordinator for our Cardiac Telemetry unit within the Healthcare & Medical Services department. Located in central Austin, our full-service hospital is recognized for excellence in neurology, cardiac services, and robotic surgery, and is dedicated to compassionate, patient-centered care.

The Clinical Nurse Coordinator Cardiac Telemetry is a Registered Nurse who provides leadership at the bedside while delivering high-quality, evidence-based nursing care to a diverse population of adult and geriatric cardiac and telemetry patients. In this role, you will coordinate patient care across the shift, serving as a clinical resource and role model for staff nurses, ensuring accurate cardiac rhythm monitoring, timely interventions, and effective communication among the interdisciplinary care team. You will oversee and participate in comprehensive assessments, develop and implement individualized care plans, administer medications and treatments, interpret and respond to cardiac and telemetry monitoring data, and escalate changes in patient condition as appropriate.

You will assist with daily staffing coordination, patient flow, and bed placement for the telemetry unit, helping to prioritize admissions, discharges, and transfers while maintaining safe nurse-to-patient ratios. The Clinical Nurse Coordinator supports and mentors new nurses and support staff, provides real-time coaching on clinical skills, documentation, and best practices, and promotes a culture of safety, teamwork, and respect. You will collaborate closely with cardiologists, hospitalists, neurologists, and other providers to ensure that patients and families are informed, involved, and supported throughout the continuum of care, including discharge planning and education regarding cardiac medications, lifestyle modification, and follow-up care.

You will actively engage in continuing education, supporting both your own professional growth and that of your colleagues, and will help orient new team members to unit standards, equipment, and technology.
