(Soiled linen is never mixed with clean linen and designated clean linen containers are not used to store soiled linen). Sorts soiled clothes into: bed linens, towels and wash cloths, belts and resident wearing apparel Washes wearing apparel separately after sorting it as to color and type Washes according to the formula posted on the washing machine. The formula meets the needs of the mineral content of the water, the need for disinfection, the length of the washing cycles, softening and what is needed to cut the last traces of soap. Returns personal wearing apparel to appropriate resident's closet or dresser. Assures that all personal items are properly marked Consults with Supervisor or Director of Nursing before discarding any clothing or linen Maintains equipment and laundry room daily Cleans the floors Works with family members concerning any laundry issues about the clothes or personal linen for the Residents Community Wide Standards Customer Service – Interacts with residents, family members, and co-workers in a respectful manner Education and Staff In-Services – includes training for individual departments, Poydras Home, and Green House Project Infection Control – Adheres to Poydras Home infection control policies and procedures Safety – Recognizes and responds appropriately to safety hazards throughout the community Time and Attendance – Adheres to Poydras Home Attendance policy Equal Opportunity Employer This employer is required to notify all applicants of their rights pursuant to federal employment laws.For further information, please review the Know Your Rights notice from the Department of Labor. #J-18808-Ljbffr
