WHAT YOU WILL BE DOING (ESSENTIAL DUTIES) …

This position will provide individual, family and group psychotherapy to children and adolescents. Collaborating with school personnel in four school districts in Newport County, services are provided in a school-based setting during the academic year, and in the office when school is not in session. Additionally, the School-Based Therapist will act as a consultant to school personnel on their own self-care and stress management.

Main Duties and Responsibilities:

• Provide group, individual and family therapy.
• Conduct diagnostic assessments including initial intakes and on-going reassessments.
• Work side by side with service recipients to create person-centered recovery plans.
• Provide clinical consultation and guidance to Bachelor level case management staff.
• Complete all agency documentation utilizing a collaborative documentation approach.
• Participate in crisis response services as part of a clinical team.
• Risk assessment for individuals who present in crisis.
• Crisis intervention, stabilization, and counseling.
• Assessment for emergency hospitalization.
• Serve as a client advocate with appropriate and timely referrals to other agencies; provide consultation and follow-up communication with law enforcement agencies, community agencies, schools, medical facilities, and inpatient units.
• Actively participate in team communication processes that ensure appropriate services and outcomes.

WHAT WE EXPECT OF YOU…

• Master’s Degree in Social Work, Counseling, Marriage, and Family Therapy or other related social services field.
• Licensed at the independent practice level as defined by the Rhode Island Department of Health (LICSW, LMHC, PhD) preferred.
• Minimum of two years of clinical work experience.
