Social Worker

The Social Services Director responsibility will be to provide for the physical, psychological, and social needs ofthe residents and all other duties assigned. Additionally, shares a responsibility toward creating and sustaining anenvironment that humanizes and individualizes each resident.The SSD’s main responsibility will be to motivate all residents to make healthy adjustments to the nursing facility,by their participation in activities and social events. Informal counseling will be a part of the SSD’s jobresponsibilities and they will attempt to uncover any problems which might be interfering with the residents’socialization and participation in home activities.The SSD will be available to help any resident who feels a need to share personal problems. The SSD, whenfeasible, will have daily contact with all residents, providing residents with opportunities to make vocal theirproblems and reassurance that staff at the facility cares about, and is interested, in their welfare.Education: An Associate Degree in Human Studies or Bachelor Degree in Social Work or anotherhuman services field preferred.Qualifications: Enjoy working with older people, exercise judgment, display empathy, creative skills,imagination, friendliness, resourcefulness, enthusiasm, and have a caring attitude and sincere interest in others. No criminal background record or OIG exclusionLicensure/Certification: Licensed Social Worker preferredExperience: A minimum of six months of long-term care experience or experience working with theolder adult population is preferred. #J-18808-Ljbffr Haymount-Nursing-
