Maintenance Planner

Job Summary

We are seeking a Maintenance Planner / Coordinator to support the safe, reliable, and efficient operation of critical facility equipment and systems. This role is responsible for planning, scheduling, and coordinating maintenance activities, developing detailed work packages, managing contractor work, and supporting plant reliability initiatives. The ideal candidate will have a strong technical background and experience working in industrial, manufacturing, utility, construction, or maintenance environments.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop detailed maintenance work packages including material lists, procedures, drawings, and equipment clearance requirements.

  • Coordinate maintenance schedules with operations and maintenance teams to ensure work is completed safely and efficiently.

  • Support environmental compliance by prioritizing maintenance activities related to environmental equipment and systems.

  • Prepare and manage equipment clearance requests while ensuring all safety requirements are met.

  • Assist with troubleshooting equipment issues and support reliability improvement efforts.

  • Conduct field walk-downs to verify job scopes, identify hazards, and improve execution planning.

  • Develop labor and cost estimates for maintenance and repair activities.

  • Manage contractor work scopes, bid specifications, and project execution while tracking project costs and budgets.

  • Collaborate with procurement, materials, and contract services teams to secure resources and resolve issues.

  • Support outage planning, preventative maintenance programs, and capital improvement projects.

  • Serve as a backup maintenance supervisor when needed and provide support during emergency work situations outside normal hours.

Qualifications

Required:

  • 5+ years of experience in maintenance, manufacturing, industrial operations, utilities, construction, power generation, or a related technical environment.

  • Strong understanding of maintenance planning, scheduling, and work management processes.

  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.

  • Strong communication, organizational, and problem-solving skills.

  • Proficiency with maintenance management systems, Microsoft Office applications, and related software.

  • Willingness to spend significant time in the field coordinating work and performing equipment inspections.

Preferred:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology, Construction Management, Industrial Technology, Business, or a related field.

  • Experience in power generation, utilities, heavy industrial manufacturing, electrical systems, or large-scale construction projects.

  • Experience planning outages, capital projects, or major maintenance activities.

  • Familiarity with Maximo, SAP, Ariba, or similar enterprise maintenance and asset management systems.

  • Knowledge of maintenance benchmarking, reliability practices, and continuous improvement methodologies.

Pay and Benefits

The pay range for this position is $34.58 - $46.00/hr.
