Job Description

As a Test Technician, you perform hands-on testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic components and PCB assemblies in a collaborative production environment. You use a variety of electronic test equipment and soldering techniques to diagnose faults, carry out board-level repairs, and help improve product reliability. The role follows a MondayFriday schedule from 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the opportunity to move to a flexible, fixed start time between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. after the training period.

Responsibilities

• Perform testing, troubleshooting, and repair of electronic components and PCB assemblies to ensure proper functionality and reliability.
• Conduct detailed diagnostics to identify faults, interpret test results, and determine root causes of failure.
• Utilize electronic testing equipment, including oscilloscopes, multimeters, ohm meters, and microscopes, to evaluate and validate electronic assemblies.
• Execute precision soldering and rework tasks, including component replacement, touch-up work, and board-level repairs.
• Apply and adhere to Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) safety standards and handling procedures when working with sensitive electronic components.
• Evaluate equipment and components to determine whether repair is viable or if parts should be scrapped, following established guidelines.
• Manage and prioritize a repair backlog to ensure timely completion of inventory repairs and support production flow.
• Maintain accurate repair records, test results, and documentation of work performed in accordance with internal processes.
• Collaborate with engineering and quality teams to share findings, support process improvements, and enhance overall product reliability.
• Support debugging and rework activities on PCB assemblies and other electronic products as needed.
• Work flexibly within the production environment, assisting where the team needs support while maintaining high attention to detail.

Essential Skills

• Hands-on experience with electronics testing and troubleshooting, including work on PCB assemblies and electronic components.
• Proficiency using electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, ohm meters, and microscopes.
• Ability to read and work from electronic schematics to support diagnostics and repair activities.
• Basic to intermediate soldering skills, including component replacement and board-level rework.
• Experience with electronic repair and debugging, including identifying faults and performing corrective actions.
• Familiarity with Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) practices and safe handling of sensitive electronic components.
• Ability to manage and prioritize multiple repair tasks and maintain organized, accurate documentation.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality in testing, repair, and record-keeping.
• Capacity to work independently at a personal workstation while collaborating effectively with production, engineering, and quality teams.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with PCB testing and diagnostics using standard electronic test equipment.
• Experience in electronic troubleshooting and repair in a production or assembly environment.
• Comfort with debugging and rework on complex electronic assemblies.
• Ability to operate test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, ohm meters, and microscopes with confidence and accuracy.
• Understanding of basic electronic principles and component-level behavior.
• Willingness to grow within the organization over the long term and take on increasing responsibilities as skills develop.

Work Environment

You work in a smaller, tight-knit production group where collaboration and flexibility are highly valued. The company is growing and seeks individuals who want to grow alongside it and are serious about long-term placements. Assembly departments are cubicle-based, and each employee has their own workspace, providing a focused environment for testing, repair, and documentation. The standard schedule is Monday through Friday, 6:00 a.m. to 2:30 p.m., with the option for a flexible fixed start time between 6:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m. after training. You regularly use electronic test equipment such as oscilloscopes, multimeters, ohm meters, and microscopes, and follow ESD-safe practices when handling components.

This is a Contract to Hire position based out of Beaverton, OR.

The pay range for this position is $28.00 - $30.00/hr.

Individual compensation offered for this position within this range will depend on many factors, including qualifications, skills, relevant experience, job knowledge, geographic location, internal equity, and other pertinent job-related factors.

This is a fully onsite position in Beaverton,OR.
