Administrative Nurse III (RRT Nurse) - Critical Care Outreach Team (100% Full-Time, Flex Day/Nights)

Position Summary The Administrative Nurse III (Nurse Manager) Critical Care Outreach is accountable for overseeing the Critical Care Outreach Team operations. This certified nurse provides leadership during emergency responses across the organization, delivers episodic patient care, offers nursing consultation, mentorship, and education to all healthcare team members, and serves as a resource for interprofessional staff in recognizing and managing deteriorating and high-acuity patients. The role supports independent decision-making to ensure high-quality care in a dynamic environment. Duties & Responsibilities Synthesize evidence-based practice, research, regulatory standards, and clinical expertise to deliver safe, coordinated, quality patient care to diverse populations at risk for clinical deterioration in collaboration with an interprofessional team. Create and maintain a supportive, healthy work environment, fostering psychological safety, open communication, collaboration, and accountability; serve as a professional leadership role model. Identify recurring patient safety concerns and lead problem solving, continuous quality improvement, and resolution; inform nursing service administration regarding unit-specific needs and trends. Plan and conduct formal and informal educational experiences for interprofessional team members to promote early recognition and management of patient deterioration. Actively participate in organizational communication processes by timely review and response to electronic and written messages. Demonstrate competence and ownership in all departmental information system applications. Work flexible shifts and days as required. Perform other related duties and participate in special projects as assigned. Minimum Qualifications BSN required; Master's degree in nursing or related field preferred. Licensed Registered Professional Nurse in Illinois; out-of-state and compact licenses are not accepted. Three to five years of recent, non-contract ICU nursing experience with progressive leadership experience. National certification in critical care required or achieved within six months of hire. Current AHA BLS and ACLS required; PALS within six months of hire. BLS/ACLS Instructor certification required or achieved within six months of hire. Effective oral and written communication skills to facilitate leadership, education, and therapeutic relationships during emergent situations. Ability to establish and maintain psychological safety across multiple clinical settings with individuals having diverse experience and educational preparation. Preferred Qualifications Master's degree in nursing or related field. Experience with clinical data sets, data management, and quality improvement initiatives.
