Housekeeper

Responsibilities Visit assigned residences to perform basic apartment cleaning of bathroom fixtures and floors, including dusting, vacuuming, sheet and linen changing, bed making, and bathroom cleaning (toilets, sinks, showers, mirrors, and floors). Avoid disturbing residents’ belongings and respect privacy. Log cleaning activities as required by procedures. Change residents’ bedding and linens weekly as part of their monthly rent; linens may be changed more frequently for an additional fee if requested. Maintain linen inventory to meet weekly changes and washing schedules. Interact with residents in a friendly manner, provide meaningful attention, and communicate health concerns to management as appropriate. Maintain a clean building in all common areas (main entry, alternative entries, reception area, corridors, bathrooms, activity rooms, dining room) by vacuuming carpets, dusting, washing windows, straightening furniture, and preparing spaces for visitors and residents seven days a week. Clean floors (sweeping, dusting, damp/wet mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing, disinfecting) and set up appropriate caution and safety signs to ensure safety, then remove signs when appropriate. Clean carpets (vacuuming, shampooing, deodorizing, disinfecting) and clean public restrooms (washing, sanitizing, polishing fixtures; remove water marks). Remove dirt, dust, grease, film from surfaces using proper cleaning and disinfecting solutions. Handle hazardous cleaning supplies according to proper procedures and ensure labeling. Attend and participate in in-service educational classes and on-the-job training as scheduled or directed. Respond to resident emergencies by contacting appropriate internal and external parties according to established protocol. May assist with disaster management during evacuations (e.g., fires, hurricanes). Maintain compliance with local, state, federal, and licensing rules and regulations related to the building, including HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable labor laws. Report any regulatory issues to management. Work safely and raise unsafe actions to the Executive Director. Comply with Safety Committee Standards. Notify the Executive Director if workplace injuries occur and follow procedures for treatment, investigation, and return to work. Foster teamwork with co-workers, take initiative, and contribute to a positive environment for coworkers, residents, and visitors.
