Registered Nurse (RN) - Oncology Unit - Flexi

Overview Sentara Norfolk General Hospital is hiring a Registered Nurse for the Oncology Unit located in Norfolk, VA. The position serves the Third (Nights) shift with flexi hours. Responsibilities Provide clinical nursing care following assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation. Administer chemotherapy and related treatments, including radiation and radioisotope therapies. Monitor patient physical and emotional conditions and document findings accurately. Coordinate care with physicians and interdisciplinary team members to deliver evidence‑based practice. Qualifications Education Degree or Diploma in Registered Nursing (required). Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) or Master of Science in Nursing (MSN) preferred. Students completing an accredited nursing program are encouraged to apply. New Graduate RNs are welcomed; the unit offers an 11‑week Transition to Practice program and a 6‑month residency to support transition. Certification/Licensure Registered Nursing License (required). Students obtaining a Registered Nursing License are eligible. Basic Life Support (BLS) required within 90 days of hire. Oncology Nursing Society (ONS) / Oncology Nursing Certification Corporation (ONCC) or Sentara approved Chemotherapy & Biotherapy Provider Card within 6 months of hire.
