Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN)

Location: North Charleston, SC

Assignment Duration: This is a 13-week contract position.

Schedule: 7:00 PM - 7:00 AM, with required rotation of every other weekend and holidays.

Job Description: We are seeking a skilled Telemetry Registered Nurse (RN) to join our team. The RN will be responsible for providing high-quality care to patients in the telemetry unit, ensuring efficient monitoring and management of cardiac patients. Candidates should possess strong telemetry skills and the capability to handle a patient ratio of 1:6.

Responsibilities:

• Monitor and manage telemetry patients, including those post-cardiac procedures such as PCI, PPM, ICD, or ablations.
• Read and interpret telemetry strips accurately.
• Prepare and execute plans of care every shift.
• Collaborate effectively with physicians and ancillary departments.
• Conduct discharge planning and provide patient education.
• Administer medications and manage cardiac drips including Cardizem, Amiodarone, Nitro, and Dobutamine.
• Perform phlebotomy and respiratory treatments as needed.
• Care for Foley catheters and follow nurse-driven protocols for removal.

Required Experience / Certifications / Licensure:

• Minimum of 30 months nursing experience as an RN or LPN.
• One previous successful travel nursing assignment required.
• Current certifications in BLS and ACLS are mandatory.
• NIH Stroke Scale certification is required.
