Work Environment

This position is based onsite within a school facility in Corpus Christi, Texas, where you will work closely with school staff, children, and their families. The work schedule typically spans Monday to Friday from 9 AM to 5 PM, with occasional evening and Saturday shifts as needed. Flexibility is crucial, especially if hired as a floater, as it will require travel between various school sites to provide consistent care.

Key Responsibilities

• Deliver comprehensive pediatric medical services to patients from infancy through adolescence, ensuring all care delivered is within the scope of training.
• Administer preventive care including vaccinations, health screenings (sight and hearing), and routine physical assessments.
• Conduct thorough assessments and treatments for acute and chronic conditions, effectively managing health issues through evidence-based practices.
• Provide health education to children and their families, focusing on nutrition, family planning, and wellness strategies to empower families toward healthier lifestyles.
• Prescribe medications, order and interpret lab tests, and carry out follow-up assessments to monitor patient progress.
• Work collaboratively under the direct supervision of a physician to uphold high standards of medical evaluation, diagnosis, and treatment.

Patient Population / Client Focus

You will serve a diverse pediatric population within the school system, catering to the healthcare needs of children and their families regardless of background. This role is integral to identifying health issues early on, tailoring care and interventions that are critical for pediatric patients’ long-term health and developmental progress.

Qualifications

• A Master's Degree in Nursing from an accredited institution.
• Current national certification as a Nurse Practitioner (NP) with specialization in pediatrics (CPNP preferred).
• Basic Life Support (BLS) certification for healthcare providers is required.
• Ability to communicate effectively in English and Spanish is highly desirable.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and familiarity with Electronic Health Records (EHR) systems and Practice Management Systems (PMS) is a plus.

Preferred Experience

• At least 5 years of direct experience as a Nurse Practitioner, especially in pediatric care or school-based health services.
• Experience working with electronic health record systems and practice management software.
• Deep understanding of the health and educational needs of children in a school environment, including familiarity with community resources.

Compensation and Benefits

We offer a competitive salary ranging from $126,000 to $150,000 annually, commensurate with experience and qualifications. In addition to a robust compensation package, our benefits include:
