Assignment Details
Contract length: 13 weeks.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Graduate of an accredited Surgical Technologist program or equivalent military surgical technologist program
- American Heart Association BLS certification
- Certified Surgical Technologist
- Minimum of 1 year experience as a surgical technologist in acute care operating room preferred
Responsibilities
- Function as scrub person under the supervision of the surgeon and RN to ensure a safe operating room environment.
- Prepare and manage case carts according to preference cards.
- Communicate clearly with operating room and sterile processing staff to coordinate instrumentation for scheduled and non-scheduled cases.
- Review daily schedule with the charge nurse and day coordinator to identify possible turnover delays and scheduling issues.
- Manage communications and delegate duties as necessary throughout the day.
- Coordinate with materials management regarding supply utilization and deployment.
