Distribution Center Senior HR Generalist

Senior Human Resources Generalist Ferguson's Distribution Center team seeks a dynamic Senior Human Resources Generalist to shape associate experience on a day‑to‑day basis. This onsite role is based at our Lebanon, TN Distribution Center and supports a workforce of over 170 hourly team members and 17 exempt leaders. The focus is on associate engagement, leadership development, and cultivating a high‑performance culture. The successful candidate will partner with associates and all levels of leadership, coach through performance conversations, navigate employee relationships, and help leaders foster effective teams. The role also partners with DC leadership on staffing strategies, onboarding, training, career progression, development programs, succession planning, and change management. Responsibilities Identify operational gaps and partner with leaders to implement practical HR solutions that improve performance, engagement, and retention. Build and deliver actionable reporting (attrition, hiring, performance, surveys) to guide leadership decisions and track progress. Design and facilitate hands‑on training for managers on interviewing, performance management, employee relations, and day‑to‑day leadership skills. Partner on employee relations issues, coaching managers through situations, ensuring consistency, and maintaining compliance with company policies and employment laws. Stay current on employment law and policy updates; translate changes into clear guidance and update processes. Lead and support HR compliance efforts (audits, background checks, drug screens, documentation), partner with HRIS, and resolve issues promptly to improve processes. Qualifications Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience. 5+ years of HR experience, including at least 2 years supporting site operations as an HR Manager or Business Partner. Strong background in industrial or distribution environments with large hourly populations. Demonstrated ability to build trust, influence leaders, and hold teams accountable to expectations and standards. Experience supporting proactive employee relations strategies, including maintaining a positive employee experience and minimizing risk. Strong analytical skills with experience using data to identify trends and drive action. Experience with HR systems (Workday preferred) and Microsoft tools. HR certification (PHR/SPHR/SHRM) is a plus. Bilingual (English/Spanish) is a preference; ability to support communication across language barriers is a plus. Pay and Benefits Pay Range: $6,858.34 – $10,975.00 (Monthly for Salaried roles OR Hourly for all other roles). This role is Bonus or Incentive Plan eligible. Ferguson complies with all wage regulations. The starting wage may be higher in certain locations based on local or state wage requirements.
