Emergency Department Registered Nurse - $32-48 per hour

Job Title Registered Nurse (RN) – Emergency Department – Alton Memorial Hospital, East Alton, Illinois Position Overview Alton Memorial Hospital is a full‑service acute care hospital that serves patients in Alton and surrounding communities. The Emergency Department provides round‑the‑clock care to patients of all ages, using a five‑tier triage system to prioritize acuity. Position Summary Provides direct patient care activities including assessment, diagnosis, planning, implementation, and evaluation within the standards of nursing care. Responsibilities Promotes patient and family centered care in a healing environment. Educates patients and their families on management of illness or injury, including post‑treatment home care needs and medication administration. Participates in activities that promote patient safety, quality and regulatory compliance. Participates in professional development. Develops, implements, and documents individual plans of care with defined goals in collaboration with other members of the interprofessional team and patient/family or caregiver in accordance with established guidelines and standards of nursing care. Proactively plans and ensures communication of the plan of care across the continuum of care. Uses critical nursing skills to assess and evaluate physical, psychosocial and emotional needs according to standards of care. Assesses patient preferences and barriers to involvement in care, including values, emotional, spiritual, cultural and population‑specific needs. Minimum Requirements Education: Nursing Diploma/Associate’s – Nursing; no experience required. Licenses & Certifications: RN. Preferred Requirements Bachelor’s Degree – Nursing; less than 2 years of experience.
