Job Description

The Sterile Processing Technician will play a critical role in the healthcare team by ensuring the effective sterilization, decontamination, and assembly/wrapping of medical instruments and equipment. This position requires experience with Level 1 Trauma Center procedures and a strong focus on maintaining high standards of cleanliness and safety in the Sterile Processing Department.

Responsibilities

• Perform sterilization, decontamination, assembly, and wrapping of surgical instruments and supplies.
• Monitor and maintain sterilization equipment and processes, ensuring compliance with safety protocols.
• Assist in the preparation of surgical instruments and sets for various types of procedures including neuro, GU, robotics, ENT, ortho, transplant, and gynecological surgeries.
• Ensure proper documentation and tracking of instruments and supplies within the department.
• Adhere to infection control standards and participate in departmental quality assurance programs.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 2 years of experience in a sterile processing role, preferably in a Level 1 Trauma Center.
• Proficient in sterilization and decontamination techniques, along with experience in assembly and packaging of surgical instruments.

Certifications/Licensure

• Must possess national certifications such as CBSPD and/or HSPA.
