5 days per week, 8-hour shifts from 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM. No weekend work required.

Job Description

The Registered Nurse in the GI Surgery Bariatric Clinic will provide quality care and support to patients undergoing bariatric surgery. The nurse will work closely with the surgical team and assist in various surgical processes while monitoring patient health and facilitating recovery. The successful candidate will document patient interactions and care in the EMR system, ensuring high standards of care.

Responsibilities

• Provide pre-operative and post-operative patient care in the GI Surgery Bariatric Clinic.
• Assist in preparing patients for surgery and recovery from anesthesia.
• Monitor and document patient vitals and respond to changes in patient conditions.
• Educate patients and families about surgical procedures and post-operative care.
• Collaborate with the healthcare team to develop and implement patient care plans.

Required Experience

• Minimum of 1-year nursing experience required; 3+ years preferred.
• Ambulatory clinic experience preferred; experience in GI Surgery or surgical settings is desired.

Certifications/Licensure

• Current South Carolina RN license or multi-state/compact state RN license required.
• BLS certification from AHA required.
