Technical Writer

Salary: $64,600 - 80,700 per year Requirements:

• Associate degree in Quality, Technical Writing, or a related STEM discipline, or at least three years of related experience in a manufacturing quality role
• Prior technical writing experience in a manufacturing or quality operation
• Ability to work with and clearly explain technical product and process requirements for electro-mechanical assembly
• Ability to interpret and revise written documentation and work instructions for consistency and efficient repeatability
• Effective, concise written and verbal communication skills
• Collaborative approach to problem-solving
• Self-motivation and ability to deliver high-quality results across a global team
• Ability to work extended hours when needed
• U.S. citizenship; selected applicants may undergo a government security investigation and must meet eligibility requirements for access to classified information
• Ability to pass a pre-employment drug screen
• Preferred: Bachelors degree in a related STEM discipline
• Preferred: Hands-on experience with ISO 9001/AS9100 or IATF 16949 quality management systems and testing or inspection methods; air structure assembly experience is a strong plus
• Desired: Working knowledge of GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing)

• Serve as the local technical writing subject matter expert and guide and train inspectors across multiple shifts
• Report writing performance and turnaround times to leadership
• Identify recurring quality issues and establish corrective actions to prevent them from happening again
• Develop and maintain organization-wide technical writing best practices
• Prepare technical documentation, including Nonconformance Reports (NCRs), Inspection Plans or Control Plans, First Article Inspections (FAIs), and Material Review Board dispositions (MRBs)
• Build strong working knowledge of customer and industry quality requirements
• Develop effective controls and solutions that support high-quality products delivered to customers on schedule
• Act as the primary contact for nonconformance investigations and material assessments
