Building relationships with freight carriers, negotiating rates, solving problems when a load goes sideways. What You'll Actually Be Doing Your day starts with a stack of open loads and active carrier relationships to manage. Then you are on the phone. Here is what that looks like in practice: Calling carriers to source capacity for customer freight across North America. Negotiating rates on the spot, sometimes with minutes to spare. Monitoring active shipments and stepping in fast when something goes wrong. Building relationships with carriers so you are the person they call back first. Hitting daily activity targets. Experience and Qualifications A logistics or freight background helps, but it is not required. What matters more: Experience in a fast-paced, phone-heavy sales or customer facing role. Comfort with rejection. This is a numbers game, and you have to be okay with that. A history of meeting or exceeding goals, whatever field they came from.
