Staff Accountant

The Tone: This is a hybrid Staff Accountant role, centrally located within a commutable distance of the Twin Cities, supporting a manufacturing client of Robert Half. The client produces goods within the manufacturing sector and is looking to strengthen its accounting operations. This critical position is responsible for a variety of essential aspects within the Accounting team, ensuring financial accuracy and integrity. The Staff Accountant will play a key role in providing valuable financial insights and data that assist in optimizing performance and informing strategic decision-making across various business units. The TL;DR Role: Early Career Location: Hybrid, Greater Minneapolis-St. Paul Area Team: Part of the Accounting team, collaborating closely with department heads. Mission: Owns critical aspects of the accounting cycle to ensure financial accuracy and support optimal business performance and decision-making. Tech Stack: Microsoft Excel What You’ll Actually Do Create accurate month-end journal entries. Conduct thorough trial balance reviews and comprehensive account reconciliations, including inventory reconciliations. Manage fixed assets, including tracking and related accounting entries. Maintain the general ledger system, ensuring its integrity and accuracy. Collaborate with department heads to understand and ensure the accuracy of all financial reporting activity, contributing to the preparation of financial statements and supporting schedules according to the monthly close schedule. The Must-Haves Background: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent in Accounting or Finance, preparing for an entry-level accounting career. Experience: 0-2 years of experience in accounting; proficient in Microsoft Excel.
