Revenue AccountantThe Revenue Accountant will focus on establishing best-in-class revenue recognition processes and serve as the subject matter expert on revenue accounting rules (ASC 606). This role serves as a key partner across accounting, finance, sales, and operations by reviewing customer contracts, supporting complex revenue transactions, and delivering timely financial reporting and analysis. The Revenue Accountant manages revenue-related close activities, reconciliations, internal controls, and process improvements while providing insights that support forecasting, operational efficiency, and strategic decision-making. This position plays a critical role in maintaining the integrity of revenue reporting, supporting audits, and driving scalable accounting processes as the business grows. This hybrid position will be based at ZincFive headquarters in Tualatin, Oregon, with 2–3 days per week in the office and the remaining time remote. The role reports to the VP & Global Corporate Controller.Revenue Accountant Job Duties:Manage revenue recognition in accordance with ASC 606 by analyzing contracts, identifying performance obligations, determining transaction prices, and allocating revenue accordinglyPerform month-end and quarter-end close activities, including preparing journal entries, accruals, and account reconciliations for revenue, deferred revenue, billing, and related balance sheet accountsReconcile billing systems, accounts receivable subledgers, and related revenue accounts to the general ledger; investigate and resolve variancesPrepare revenue, gross margin, and variance analyses, including explanations of key drivers and reconciliations to bookings, backlog, and forecastsCollaborate with FP&A on revenue forecasts for complex transactions and on monthly, quarterly, and annual financial planning activitiesSupport billing and collections to ensure accurate accounting for invoicing, credit memos, returns, and refundsMaintain and improve SOX-compliant internal controls over revenue processes; document policies and procedures and support internal and external auditsIdentify and lead process automation and continuous improvement initiatives within ERP, billing, and revenue accounting processes to improve efficiency and reduce riskPrepare revenue-related KPIs, metrics, and ad hoc analyses to support operational, commercial, and executive decision-makingResearch and apply technical accounting guidance related to revenue recognition, including evaluating the accounting impact of new products, pricing models, and contract structuresSupport internal and external audits by preparing documentation and revenue testing samplesFosters strong interdepartmental collaboration to enhance responsive customer service, timely issue resolution, streamline processes, and support shared business goalsOther duties/projects as assignedJob Requirements:Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field5+ years of progressive accounting experience with a strong focus on revenue recognition (ASC 606)Strong knowledge of U.S. GAAP, revenue accounting principles, and internal control frameworks, including SOX complianceExperience reviewing and accounting for customer contracts, including evaluating performance obligations, transaction pricing, and revenue recognition impactsAdvanced proficiency with ERP, billing systems (e.g., NetSuite, SAP, Oracle) and Microsoft ExcelStrong analytical ability, attention to detailAbility to work independently and as part of a teamAuditing experienceAbility to interpret technical accounting guidance and apply it to complex business transactionsExcellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to collaborate effectively across departmentsAbility to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and operate effectively in a fast-paced environmentPreferred Experience/Skills:Certified Public Accountant (CPA) certificationBig 4 audit experienceKey Competencies:Attention to detail and analytical abilityExcellent communication skills - verbal and writtenGood judgment with solid decision makingCustomer service orientatedTeamwork and collaborationContinuous improvementPhysical Requirements and Working Conditions:Work involves sitting, standing, and lifting up to 10 poundsRepetitive typing and computer work for extended periods of timeHigh volume of phone calls for extended periods of timeRemote home and office environmentMust be able to maintain a level state of alertness while performing this jobSalary offers will depend on factors that include the location you work from, your level, education, training, specific skills, years of experience and comparison to other employees already in this role.In addition, the successful candidate for this position will become eligible for a comprehensive set of outstanding benefits, including medical, dental, vision, life insurance, 401k, paid sick time, paid time off for vacation, paid holidays, paid community service days, professional/personal learning program, and applicable state/federal paid family leave.ZincFive is committed to employing a diverse workforce.
