Grinder Operator

Location: Phoenix, AZ
Shift: 6AM-2:30PM
Pay Rate: $21.00 - $22.75 per hour

Job Summary

We are seeking a reliable and detail-oriented Grinder Operator with a fabrication backgroud to join our manufacturing team in Phoenix, AZ. The ideal candidate will have experience operating grinding equipment, deburring metal parts, and working in a production environment. This position is responsible for precision grinding, surface finishing, quality inspections, and maintaining production standards while following all safety requirements.

Responsibilities

• Deburr metal parts and components to required specifications.
• Operate and maintain grinding machinery and equipment.
• Set up grinding wheels and perform precision grinding operations.
• Grind and blend metal surfaces to required tolerances and quality standards.
• Remove excess coatings while maintaining dimensional specifications.
• Inspect parts throughout the grinding process to ensure quality requirements are met.
• Complete production paperwork accurately and route parts to the next department.
• Perform routine and preventive maintenance on grinding equipment and tools.
• Report equipment malfunctions, quality concerns, and safety issues to supervisors.
• Follow all company safety policies, procedures, and PPE requirements.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment.
• Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• High school diploma, GED, or equivalent work experience.
• Minimum of 1 year of experience as a Grinder Operator or operating hand grinders and belt grinders.
• Experience working around machinery in a manufacturing environment.
• Ability to read and interpret work instructions, blueprints, and specifications.
• Experience grinding to specific tolerances preferred.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality.
• Working knowledge of hand tools, power tools, and shop equipment.
• Reliable attendance and strong work ethic.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 25 pounds regularly.
• Ability to stand for extended periods throughout the shift.
• Frequent bending, reaching, kneeling, crouching, pushing, pulling, and walking.
• Ability to use hands, fingers, and arms for repetitive grinder operations.
• Ability to wear required personal protective equipment (PPE).
• Comfortable working in a manufacturing environment with noise, vibration, moving machinery, and varying temperatures.
