ICU Registered Nurse (RN)An opportunity is available for an experienced ICU Registered Nurse to join a Neuro Intensive Care Unit. The unit specializes in the care of complex neurological patients and offers state-of-the-art facilities and support.Position Details:Unit: McAuley ICU (Neuro ICU)Unit Type: Intensive Care Unit (ICU)Number of Beds: 20Patient Ratios: 1:1 - 2Electronic Medical Record (EMR): CernerCharges Nursing Staff: Yes, typically does not take patients but will relieve during breaksNurse Aides: Available as Safety Attendants (sitters)Weekend Requirement: Every other weekendHolidays: Participation required, rotating with core staffScrub Color: Navy (undershirts must also be navy, white, or black; scrub jackets optional but must be navy)Telemetry Support: Yes, must be able to read and interpret EKG stripsVentilator Support: YesProvider Availability: Hospitalist or Intensivist available on-siteRespiratory Therapy: Available 24/7Pharmacy Services: Available 24/7 with ICU pharmacy during daytime hoursShifts: 12-hour shifts starting at 6:45 PM; self-scheduling availableOrientation: Floor-specific orientation lasting 1-2 days with a preceptorCommon Diagnoses: Include CVA, ICB, neuro surgeries, craniotomies, neuro interventional radiology, and ventriculostomiesQualifications:Experience: Minimum of 2 years in a Neuro ICU setting preferredRequired Certifications:Advanced Cardiovascular Life Support (ACLS)Basic Life Support (BLS)National Institutes of Health Stroke Scale (NIHSS)Applications should include two supervisory references, including one within the last 12 months and another within the last 3 years of work experience. Candidates are expected to float to sister facilities as needed.
