Description

American Traveler is hiring an RN for a Mother-Baby/Couplet Care/Post Partum unit requiring 2+ years of postpartum experience, IV start skills, and L&D experience.

Details

• Mother-Baby / Couplet Care / Post Partum unit in a hospital setting
• Level 1 Nursery and Postpartum work settings
• Day shift, 3x12 hours (7:00 AM - 7:30 PM)
• May float to units of similar acuity
• Uses EPIC EMR system

Requirements

• Active OH or compact RN license required in hand at time of consideration
• BLS and NRP certifications required
• Minimum 2 years of postpartum experience required
• IV start skills and labor & delivery (L&D) experience required
• EPIC EMR experience required
• Education must be from an ACEN or CCNE accredited program
• 2 professional references required, with at least 1 from a manager/director or formal leadership role; charge RN acceptable for second reference; no coworker references accepted

Additional Information

• Provide comprehensive postpartum care including fundus/lochia/perineum assessment, episiotomy/incision care, and breastfeeding instruction
• Administer medications including antihypertensives, heparin, magnesium sulfate, and pitocin (oxytocin)
• Care for newborns including cord care, newborn assessment, phototherapy, and discharge teaching to parents
• Manage postpartum patients with cesarean section, multiple births, postpartum hemorrhage, and pregnancy-induced hypertension
• Administer IV therapy and blood/blood products as needed
• Must complete Ohio fingerprinting process urgently upon signing contract; candidates outside Ohio but within driving distance must travel to a fingerprinting location, while those at extreme distances will receive a mailed fingerprinting packet
• Former employees eligible for travel assignment after 6+ months away from the facility
• Current employees are ineligible to be hired as travelers at this health system
• Local candidates accepted at the same pay rate
• RTO must be submitted and built into contract, limited to 7 days or less
