Associate Attorney

Our client is seeking a motivated and experienced Associate Attorney to join its growing civil litigation practice. This role offers the opportunity to manage a diverse caseload while working alongside experienced attorneys in a collaborative and client-focused environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong foundation in civil litigation, exceptional legal writing skills, and experience handling cases from inception through resolution. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker with excellent communication skills, a commitment to client service, and the ability to effectively manage multiple matters in a fast-paced legal environment. Key Responsibilities Manage a diverse caseload of civil litigation matters from initial case evaluation through settlement, trial, or final resolution. Draft and review pleadings, motions, memoranda, discovery requests and responses, legal briefs, and other litigation-related documents. Conduct comprehensive legal research and develop effective case strategies to support client objectives. Take and defend depositions of parties, fact witnesses, corporate representatives, and expert witnesses. Represent clients at hearings, mediations, arbitrations, court conferences, and other legal proceedings. Prepare cases for trial, including witness preparation, exhibit organization, trial notebooks, and litigation strategy development. Negotiate settlements while providing clients with practical legal advice regarding litigation risks, costs, and business objectives. Maintain consistent communication with clients, providing timely updates and strategic guidance throughout the litigation process. Collaborate with partners, associates, paralegals, and legal support staff to deliver exceptional legal services. Stay current on Florida statutes, case law, procedural rules, and emerging legal developments affecting civil litigation. Ensure compliance with court deadlines, procedural requirements, and firm standards for case management. Qualifications Juris Doctor (J.D.) from an accredited law school. Active membership in the Florida Bar in good standing. Minimum of 3 years of civil litigation experience preferred. Experience handling one or more of the following: Commercial Litigation Business Litigation Professional Liability Insurance Defense Construction Litigation Strong legal research, analytical, writing, and advocacy skills. Experience conducting depositions, drafting and arguing motions, and appearing in court. Excellent organizational skills with the ability to manage multiple deadlines and competing priorities. Ability to work independently while contributing effectively within a collaborative team environment. Strong interpersonal and client relationship management skills. Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software. Preferred Qualifications Mediation and settlement negotiation experience. Experience managing cases independently from inception through resolution. Demonstrated ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
