Ocean Import Coordinator

Our client, a leading logistics and freight forwarding organization, is seeking a dedicated Ocean Import Coordinator to join their team. As an Ocean Import Coordinator, you will be part of the Office department supporting the logistics and supply chain operations. The ideal candidate will demonstrate excellent communication skills, strong organizational abilities, and a proactive approach, which will align successfully in the organization.
Job Title: Ocean Import Coordinator Location: Jamaica, NY Pay Range: $20 Shift: 8:00AM - 5:00PM, Monday to Friday What's the Job?- Provide high-quality customer service by developing and maintaining strong relationships with clients and operational teams.
- Prepare, analyze, and submit documentation to ensure compliance with transportation laws and regulations.
- Anticipate, identify, and resolve issues that could delay freight movement or release.
- Coordinate with brokers, service providers, and internal teams to exceed customer service expectations.
- Assist with billing, payment collection, and resolving related issues to ensure accurate invoicing and vendor payments.
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Proficient computer skills and experience in logistics coordination.
- Strong customer service, organizational, and communication skills.
- Knowledge of freight forwarding, air export regulations, and international trade banking requirements.
- Ability to handle hazardous materials, dangerous goods shipping, and related regulations.
