What You Can Expect as an Aircraft Interior Technician at West Star: Performing general mechanical tasks on aircraft interiors and related systems. Troubleshooting and repairs on damaged or worn interior components. Making minor modifications to panels, seats, carpets, cabinetry, upholstery, etc. Measure, cut, and fit materials such as leather, fabric, and composites for interior refurbishments Assisting in aircraft detailing and cleaning. Maintaining and repairing the shop facility, equipment, and tooling. Demonstrating basic computer skills to navigate electronic training materials, manuals, and maintenance databases. Ensuring cleanliness of the shop and surrounding areas. Working independently when required. Effectively and clearly communicating (i.e., speaking, writing, reading) in English. Performing any other job-related duties as assigned by a supervisor or management. Your Education What You’ll Need to Bring with You: A high school diploma or equivalent. A valid driver’s license approved for airline travel and/or a valid passport is ideal but not required. Your Experience 5+ years of experience working on private aviation interiors is preferred. Your Initiative We’re looking for team players who are self-motivated and able to perform in a fast-paced environment where working under specific deadlines and time constraints will be common. Your Sense Of Responsibility Attend work every day as scheduled, including overtime and weekend assignments. Notify the supervisor in advance if you are unable to work. You must have reliable transportation to get to work each day. Perform all work in accordance with Federal Aviation Administration guidelines. Follow all company and safety rules during the performance of duties. Maintain customer-oriented work habits. Assist in major modification work as needed. Other Particulars Physical Requirements: Lift and carry at least 70 lbs. Routine walking, bending, squatting, or sitting. Work on elevated platforms (up to 40 feet in the air) using fall protection safety gear. Engage in routine or repetitive physical motions with arms and hands, emphasizing grasping, feeling, and finger dexterity. Stand for long periods. Climb ladders and stairs, working in small, restricted areas. Mental Requirements: Understand and implement regulations and guidelines, including but not limited to OSHA and Hazmat. Professionally work with others. Plan and organize procedures and operations. Read various reports and blueprints. Working Conditions: The majority of work will be performed in a hangar or shop environment that can have extreme temperatures, from hot to cold. Work outside on the ramp on occasion. Varied positions in and around the aircraft. Equipment Used: Personal hand tools supplied by the mechanic. Electrical power tools such as sanders, saws, power drills, etc. Sheet metal cutters, glue guns, and metal benders. Tugs, power carts, and other engine-powered equipment. Spray booth and all related equipment.
