About the Position

Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Medical-Surgical/Telemetry Duration: 13 weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum of 2 years of nursing experience required. License: Current nursing license required. Certifications: BCLS required. ACLS preferred. Must-Have: Traveler experience with two successfully completed assignments. Description: RTO after booking is not allowed and cannot be worked out onsite. Any call-offs or additional RTO may result in cancellation. The unit is complex and will not accept first-time travelers. The unit strives for a target patient ratio of 1:6, but understands that ratios can rise to 1:7 due to staffing needs. It is a fast-paced environment with an average bed turnover of one-third each day. The unit cares for patients with gastrointestinal conditions, blood loss and anemia associated with the GI tract, infections, renal issues, and those recovering from GI surgeries. There are telemetry beds for cardiac rhythm monitoring. Floating to other medical/surgical units may be required based on needs. Work every other weekend is mandatory. Candidates must pass EKG testing prior to starting. Scrubs must be navy and/or white. Candidates will need to complete required modules prior to starting. All testing must be completed swiftly to ensure readiness for the role. The patient population includes adults and geriatric patients. Interdisciplinary support includes various services. Candidates must be flexible and prepared for a dynamic and demanding work environment.
