Job Title: Emergency Room Registered Nurse Profession: RN (Registered Nurse) Specialty: ER (Emergency Room) Duration: 13 weeks Shift: 12H Evenings Hours per Shift: 12 hours Experience: Minimum of 2 years of ER experience required, with at least 6 months of Trauma Level 1 experience. License: License required for submission. Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS required; TNCC and ATCN preferred. ENPC is not allowed to replace PALS certification. Must-Have: Candidates must have their own vehicles. Candidates must have natural hair color and no facial piercings. Men must be clean-shaven for fit testing. Candidates must pass a pass/fail exam on Day 1 of orientation. Description: The role involves working in a fast-paced emergency room setting with varying start times. The nurse will float between different facilities as needed. Common patient diagnoses include trauma, burns, and pediatrics. The emergency room consists of 36 acute beds and 54 subacute beds, with 6 trauma bays. The nurse-to-patient ratio is 1:4. Nurse aides and PCTs are available to assist as needed. Telehealth monitoring will use Phillips monitors, and nurses must be able to read strips. Respiratory therapists and pharmacists are available 24/7 in the emergency room setting. The department processes approximately 88,000 patients per year, averaging 250-300 patients daily. Nurses are expected to be competent in sterile field maintenance and other essential nursing skills. Additional training will be provided in lifts, restraints, and wound care. Flexibility in scheduling is required, including 4 weekend shifts per month.
