School Psychologist
Hampton School District is seeking a full-time School Psychologist for the school year 2026-2027. This position is at Hampton Academy serving students in grades six through eight. The successful candidate must be able to administer psychological, intellectual, social, emotional, as well as academic evaluations to students identified with or suspected of having disabilities. These evaluations must be in accordance with the National Association of School Psychologist (NASP) standards and result in comprehensive written reports and verbal presentations detailing outcomes and recommendations. The successful candidate must deliver effective counseling services to students with behavioral challenges who are identified with special needs and are on individualized education plans and be a resource to our school staff. The candidate also serves as a collaborative member of the IEP team, assisting with interpreting independent evaluations, determinations of special education eligibility, and recommendations for appropriate special education programming. Consultation with teachers and administrators regarding students with disabilities is also part of the role responsibilities. Strong verbal and written communication skills, good organization/time management skills, and knowledge of special education procedures are fundamental. The candidate must also have strong organizational skills with a proven ability to collect and organize academic and or behavioral data. Qualifications: School Psychologist NH Certification Required; Master's Degree in related field; relevant experience in an educational setting; knowledge of school systems, RTI processes, and special education; a minimum of 3 years experience working as a School Psychologist is preferred. Reports to: Director of Student Services
Responsibilities
- Determine and obtain appropriate information pertinent to work with individual students through interviews, observation, testing/assessment, review of records and contracts both within the district and with other professional agencies in determining handicapping condition and/or developing intervention plans for students
- Serve on a multi-disciplinary team that collaborates to identify a student with a suspected educational disability
- Maintain a schedule of students services and keep thorough ongoing records for each student receiving therapy
- Contribute a knowledge of family/social systems when participating in decision-making related to students needs in areas such as early or delayed school entrance, detention issues, changes in placement, legal suspension, or dismissal
- Present findings and intervention plans to parents and school staff at team meetings
- Assist with outcome-oriented assessments
- Conduct counseling sessions with individuals and groups of school-age students and consult with their families using techniques that will encourage self-understanding and constructive behavior
- Perform other duties and responsibilities as directed by the Director of Pupil Services or Building Principal
