Design Architect

We are seeking an experienced Retail Architect to join our team and lead the design and development of retail projects from initial concept through construction. The ideal candidate will have strong experience designing shopping centers, retail buildings, tenant spaces, and mixed-use retail environments and understand the unique requirements of commercial retail development. Key Responsibilities Lead architectural design for retail and commercial real estate projects from concept through completion Develop conceptual designs, site plans, floor plans, elevations, and construction documents Collaborate with developers, owners, property managers, engineers, contractors, and consultants Participate in project planning, budgeting, scheduling, and coordinationPrepare and review architectural drawings, specifications, and construction documents Ensure designs meet building codes, zoning requirements, ADA requirements, and local regulations Coordinate with civil, structural, MEP, landscape, and other consultants Conduct site visits and assist with construction administration Review shop drawings, submittals, RFIs, and change orders Work closely with tenants and ownership on tenant improvement and retail build-out projects Assist with permitting and coordinate with municipalities and regulatory agencies Maintain project schedules and communicate project status to clients and internal stakeholders Identify design and construction issues and develop practical solutions Ensure projects are delivered on time, within budget, and according to client expectations Qualifications Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Architecture 5+ years of architectural experience , preferably within retail or commercial real estate Proven experience with shopping centers, retail developments, tenant improvements, or commercial projects Strong knowledge of building codes, zoning, accessibility, and construction practices Proficiency with AutoCAD and Revit Strong understanding of architectural drawings and construction documents Excellent project management and organizational skills Strong communication and client‑facing abilities Ability to manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously Registered Architect (RA) preferred , but not required Ideal Background The ideal candidate may currently be working as a: Retail Architect Project Architect Senior Project Architect Commercial Architect Retail Design Architect Architect/Designer with strong retail experience Experience with grocery-anchored shopping centers, neighborhood retail, ground-up retail development, and tenant improvement projects is highly desirable. #J-18808-Ljbffr
