Location: Clinton Community College (20) $15.05 - $17.36/HR Job Description Under direction, performs routine custodial duties as required to clean and keep orderly assigned areas in buildings and adjacent areas. Follows prescribed written or oral procedures in performance of duties and fills in as necessary for absent custodians on same shift. Work hours M-F 2:30pm to 11pm Location Clinton Community College Required Qualifications Some prior experience in custodial work is desirable. Other abilities and knowledge required are knowledge of the methods, materials, and equipment used in cleaning various types of building surfaces and items of furniture; ability to maintain schedules providing for regular cleaning of all facilities assigned; ability to carry out oral and written instructions; ability to work cooperatively with others. A valid driver's license is required. Physical Demands Prolonged periods standing. Must be able to lift, bend, stoop, climb, reach, and lift up to 50 pounds at a time. Typical Duties and Responsibilities Sweeps, dusts and wet mops all floors daily in assigned areas. Sweeps, waxes and buffs all tile floors as necessary and vacuums and shampoos carpeted areas as needed. Dust all office furniture and window ledges as needed. Empties all wastebaskets daily. Burns paper in the incinerator. Rearranges all classroom desks and chairs daily after cleaning. Cleans all whiteboards. Cleans and disinfects restrooms to include floors, lavatories, toilet bowls, mirrors, and keeps paper supplies available. Cleans windows, doors, woodwork, furniture and walls when necessary. Cleans tables in cafeteria/auditorium or other assigned areas. Changes light bulbs and cleans shades and globes. Secures all doors and windows in assigned area at end of shift, and reports needed mechanical and maintenance needs to supervisor. Assists with room setups as necessary. Assists with snow and ice removal as necessary and runs errands as needed. Is committed to providing quality service that meets or exceeds the expectations of internal and external customers. Performs other tasks assigned by supervisor.
