The College of Arts and Sciences is the largest academic unit at Indiana University (IU) Bloomington. It is composed of 40 plus departments, 50 plus Centers, Programs, and Institutes, while also including the Eskenazi School of Art, Architecture and Design, the Hamilton Lugar School of Global and International Studies, and The Media School. Faculty in the College teach over 50 percent of the Indiana University Bloomington credit hours and the College occupies about 1.3 million square feet of space in 80 plus buildings on the Bloomington campus. Department-Specific Responsibilities Collaborates with the Assistant Director of Auxiliary Services, and is responsible for managing auxiliary activity within the College of Arts and Sciences and serves as a resource for financial auxiliary oversight. Performs bi-annual rate reviews for units, reviews, and approves auxiliary transactions, maintains compliance according to recharge accounting policy, and serves as the departmental auxiliary liaison with the College of Arts and Sciences (The College) and other administrative and service units as it relates to auxiliary activity. Serves as fiscal officer delegate for The College auxiliary accounts and oversees auxiliary activity for assigned facilities, monitors and coordinates activities with the facilities directors, and works with The College Assistant Director for Auxiliaries to implement and monitor financial practices, and provides reporting to Recharge Accounting. Monitors expenditures and income to ensure financial stability is accurately evaluated, initiates requests for new revenue producing activities, and updates for on-going activities as appropriate. Stays up to date on federal guidelines as they apply to recharge accounting and federal fund expenditures. Meets regularly with auxiliary directors and managers to review, analyze, and advise on the status of their accounts and establish projected goals, ensuring managers are trained in operating policies and procedures following IU guidelines, and complying with federal regulations. Formulates, affects, interprets, and implements management policies and operating practices related to the auxiliary facility operations. Analyzes internal processes, recommends, develops, and implements departmental procedural or policy changes to improve and ensure operational efficiency, effectiveness, and quality customer service. Performs monthly, quarterly, and annual reporting and analysis on various departmental accounts, assembles and provides statistical data and ad hoc reporting to the department financial leaders, and outside agencies as requested for completing reports and surveys. Applies knowledge to accepted procedures and standards, performs financial and administrative tasks related to managing the daily and long-term financial and/or administrative operations for research laboratory services, research support services, or student and public facing enterprise or recharge organizations within a school or college. Makes recommendations on policies and guidelines for division/department activities. Monitors closely all expenditures and revenue generation to ensure regulatory compliance and fiscal integrity. Manages auxiliary recharge and enterprise accounts and comprehends the basics of other account types and purposes. Develops, plans, and makes recommendations on special projects, which may include space allocations, staffing, equipment purchases, and long-range plans. Prepares operating and project budget drafts. Regularly explains financial concepts to non-financial employees. Monitors division/departmental budgets and resolves or recommends resolutions for any significant deviations from approved budgets. Provides guidance to lower-level employees within departments. General Responsibilities Performs detailed periodic fiscal analysis of income statements, balance sheets, and cash flows and compiles trends to guide financial decisions. Provides specialized financial analysis support using measures such as past financial performance, economic conditions, price, yield, stability, and investment risk. Interprets fiscal policies and acts as a resource to department; may provide guidance to lower-level employees. May serve as fiscal delegate for department accounts. Presents findings using tools such as spreadsheets, charts, graphs, and technical reports. Verifies accuracy of data and makes recommendations for corrections. Combinations of related education and experience may be considered. Education beyond the minimum required may be substituted for work experience. Required Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.WORK EXPERIENCE

Possesses intermediate accounting skills; ability to spot obvious errors; ability to develop a budget and financial forecasts. Demonstrates ability to interpret and apply concepts and policies to daily work functions. Ability to clearly present material and make it accessible to a variety of audiences. Ability to interpret financial documents from an accounting, policy, and practice perspective. Knowledge of IU policies, procedures, and systems, including knowledge and experience with KFS, KC, HRMS, Chrome River, IUIE, CORT, Buy.IU and Emburse. Strong analytical skills. Attention to detail, the ability to set priorities, and excellent problem-solving skills are critical. Excellent interpersonal skills for working collaboratively and strategically within a shared space. Thorough knowledge and understanding of business operations and process improvement. Ability to train, present, and explain financial information and processes to non-financial audiences. Ability to lead and manage multiple departmental projects at once, managing competing priorities and deadlines. This role requires the ability to effectively communicate and to operate a computer and other standard office productivity equipment.
