Marketing Communications Specialist

The Marketing Communications Specialist supports the School's marketing and communications efforts by creating compelling content that strengthens Pembroke Hill's brand, engages its community, and advances institutional priorities. Working closely with the other members of the Marketing & Communications team, this position collaborates with colleagues across admissions, advancement, athletics, and the academic divisions to develop content for print, digital, social media, website, and multimedia platforms. The successful candidate is a creative, detail-oriented communicator who enjoys building relationships, telling meaningful stories, and managing multiple projects in a collaborative, fast-paced environment. This individual will represent The Pembroke Hill School professionally while interacting with parents, students, faculty and staff, alumni, donors, prospective families, and other members of the school community.

Qualifications and Requirements:

• Bachelor's degree in communications, marketing, public relations, journalism, or a related field.
• 2+ years of professional experience in marketing, communications, public relations, journalism, or a related field, with experience in writing, content creation, social media, and print or digital publication design.
• Exceptional writing, editing, proofreading, grammar, and verbal communication skills.
• Strong organizational, project management, and problem-solving skills with the ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines.
• Ability to build positive working relationships and communicate effectively with students, parents, faculty and staff, alumni, donors, and prospective families.
• Knowledge of journalistic writing, publication design, and AP style.
• Experience creating engaging content for social media platforms.
• Familiarity with website content management systems (CMS) preferred.
• Proficiency with Canva and Microsoft Office; working knowledge of Adobe Creative Suite (InDesign, Photoshop, and Illustrator) preferred.
• Experience capturing and editing high-quality photography
• Experience producing and editing short-form video content for digital communications.
• A collaborative mindset, strong attention to detail, and a willingness to learn and grow in a dynamic school environment.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop engaging written, visual, and multimedia content that highlights student experiences, faculty excellence, school traditions, and community life.
• Write and edit content for the School's website, newsletters, social media channels, magazine, and other print and digital publications.
• Assist with website updates and content management to ensure information is current, accurate, and engaging.
• Help maintain consistent messaging and visual identity across all communications.
• Photograph school events, classrooms, performances, athletic competitions, and other campus activities.
• Capture video content for use across social media, the website, and other marketing initiatives.
• Design and produce promotional materials, advertisements, brochures, invitations, and other collateral.
• Support production of the School's magazine, newsletters, and other institutional publications.
• Assist with marketing projects supporting admissions, advancement, athletics, and other school initiatives.
• Attend select school events, including occasional evenings and weekends, to gather photography, video, and stories.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Schedule: This is a full-time, 12-month position. Occasionally (but not regularly), evening or weekend work is required to support school events and community activities.

Compensation & Benefits: Compensation is competitive (based on market data) and commensurate with experience and education.
