Community Coordinator

The City of Fresno is seeking a dynamic communications leader for the City Attorney’s Office. The Community Coordinator will develop and execute strategic communications to elevate transparency between the City Attorney’s Office and the public. Responsibilities include public relations, program development, coordinating events, and supporting diverse community needs with effective communication. Responsibilities Develop and implement communications strategies aligned with the City Attorney’s objectives. Produce clear, compelling content including messaging, presentations, reports, newsletters, and press materials. Manage website and social media platforms for all units within the department, including content creation, updates, and engagement. Support executive leadership with talking points and public-facing communications. Coordinate media relations, including interviews and press events. Attend events and photograph as needed. Qualifications Education: Possession of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university in public administration, political science, business administration, mass communications or related field. Experience: Two (2) years of administrative support experience emphasizing public and community relations. Additional years of qualifying experience may be substituted for the required education on a year-for-year basis. Preferred: Education in communication, marketing, or public relations with experience in economic development, government, nonprofit, or related sectors; experience in speech/script writing, social media, media relations, and photography is desirable. Special Requirements Possession and continued maintenance of a valid California Driver License may be required at time of appointment. Occasional local travel may be required.
