Bachelor's or Master's degree in Special Education, active Special Education Teacher license and minimum 1+ years Special Education Teacher experience required. Applicants who do not meet these qualifications will not be considered.

The school is open to both traveling and local special education professionals, but as reciprocity for Alabama certification can take up to six weeks, speed is of the essence for out-of-state candidates.

Key Qualifications:

• Valid Alabama Special Education Teacher certification (or eligibility; anticipate a 6-week reciprocity timeline)
• Experience with self-contained settings and individualized education plans (IEPs)
• Background in working with elementary-aged children (grades 3-6 preferred)
• Collaborative mindset; comfort working alongside 1-2 classroom aides
• Strong communication and classroom management skills

Responsibilities:

• Deliver high-quality specialized instruction to a caseload of 5-6 students initially, potentially expanding to 8 as new referrals arise
• Adapt lessons and interventions based on individual student needs and IEP goals
• Maintain a positive, structured, and inclusive learning environment
• Work closely with aides, related service providers, and families to support student growth
• Complete required documentation and participate in IEP meetings as needed
