Heavy Civil Project Manager - W/WWTPLocation: Ohio Projects: Ohio, Pennsylvania, West VirginiaGPAC has partnered with a leading Ohio based heavy civil construction company who is seeking an experienced Project Manager to oversee high-value infrastructure projects with a strong focus on water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, water transmission mains, sanitary sewers, storm drainage systems, and large-scale site development.Position SummaryThe Project Manager will be responsible for the overall planning, coordination, execution, and successful delivery of complex water/wastewater and utility-related projects from pre-construction through closeout. This role requires strong leadership in managing budgets, schedules, subcontractors, safety, quality, and client relationships while ensuring projects are completed on time, within budget, and to the highest standards.Key ResponsibilitiesLead full lifecycle management of civil projects, with primary emphasis on water treatment plants (WWTP), wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, water mains, sanitary sewers, and storm drainage systemsDevelop and manage detailed project schedules, budgets, and resource plansReview and interpret contract documents, plans, specifications, and geotechnical reports to identify risks and opportunitiesCoordinate with owners, engineers, inspectors, and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance and resolve issuesManage subcontractors, vendors, and suppliers; negotiate change orders and resolve disputesTrack project costs, perform monthly cost-to-complete forecasts, and implement corrective actions as neededOversee field operations in collaboration with superintendents to drive production and qualityPrepare and present project status reports, progress meetings, and client communicationsEnsure strict adherence to safety policies, quality control procedures, and environmental regulationsMentor and develop project team members, including assistant project managers and engineersSupport business development and estimating during pursuit and pre-construction phasesQualifications & Experience (Required)Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, or related field (preferred)Minimum 8+ years of progressive project management experience in heavy civil constructionDemonstrated expertise in water and wastewater treatment facilities, pump stations, water transmission, sanitary sewers, storm drainage, and heavy site utilities is essentialProven track record managing projects valued at $10M–$50M+Strong understanding of contract administration, change management, and risk mitigationProficiency with scheduling software (Primavera P6 preferred), cost tracking tools, and Microsoft Office SuiteExcellent communication, negotiation, and leadership skillsValid driver's license and willingness to travel extensively to project sitesPreferredProfessional Engineer (PE) license or PMP certificationExperience with design-build or CMAR delivery methods for water/wastewater projectsBackground in earthwork, mass excavation, grading, and heavy civil site developmentWhat Our Client OffersCompetitive salary + performance bonusesComprehensive benefits package: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life, Disability, 401(k)Company vehicle + fuel card (when applicable)Per diem and travel supportStrong focus on safety, professional development, and work-life balanceTo be considered for this opportunity, apply directly or send your resume and questions to View email address on click.appcast.io.
