Job Title: Registered Nurse Profession: Nursing Specialty: Progressive Care Unit Duration: 13 Weeks Shift: Night Hours per Shift: 12 Experience: Minimum 1 Year Required License: RN License Required Certifications: BLS, ACLS, NIHSS Must-Have: AK RN License in Hand for Auto Offer Description: Seeking a Registered Nurse for a Progressive Care Unit. The candidate must be able to complete the RN license application within 48 hours of signing. Must have an AK RN license in hand for auto offer. The assignment length is 13 weeks, starting as soon as possible. Shift schedule includes three nights per week. First-time travelers are accepted. Weekend coverage may be more frequent than every other week, based on staffing needs. Candidate will float within their scope to meet facility needs. Local candidates are not accepted; permanent address must be at least 50 miles from the facility. Time off requests will be approved on an individual basis upon offer. All requests for time off must be included in the initial submission. The Progressive Care Unit operates as a step-down unit from the ICU with diverse patient populations. Co-Care and Virtual Nursing Models are utilized. Patient ratios are 1:4 for RNs and 1:6 for CNAs. Virtual nurses assist with admission, discharge, rounding, education, and safety rounds. 30% of patients have cardiac conditions, including CHF, MI, and other cardiac issues. The unit also cares for respiratory patients and other complicated medical-surgical cases requiring higher monitoring. The facility is an acute care hospital and is recognized for its excellence in care. Daily patient census and additional unit details are provided. Interdisciplinary support is available to enhance patient care. Special equipment is utilized to ensure high-quality monitoring and care. Candidates may be expected to float between nearby facilities. Refusal to float may result in the termination of the assignment. Communication devices may be provided to perform necessary duties. Providers will be required to submit their monthly cell phone bills if they do not receive a work-related mobile device. No unsolicited inquiries should be made regarding the position unless for an agreed-upon interview. Modules are non-billable and factored into non-billable hours. Completion of modules is necessary before starting work.
