Austin Psychiatrists: Looking for a Better Practice Environment?

Eating Recovery Center (ERC) and Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center are seeking a full-time Psychiatrist to join our team in Austin, Texas , supporting patients across both of our programs.

We’re looking for a General Psychiatrist who is comfortable treating patients across the age spectrum, from children and adolescents through adults.

Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship training is not required. What’s most important is a psychiatrist who is comfortable and willing to treat younger patients as well as adults within our PHP setting.

What You’ll Be Doing

Our psychiatrists lead multidisciplinary treatment teams and provide comprehensive psychiatric care to patients across Eating Recovery Center and Pathlight Mood & Anxiety Center .

This role provides the opportunity to work with individuals experiencing eating disorders as well as mood, anxiety, trauma-related, and other co-occurring psychiatric conditions.

Responsibilities include:

• Conducting comprehensive psychiatric evaluations
• Diagnosing psychiatric conditions and developing individualized treatment plans
• Prescribing and managing psychotropic medications
• Providing psychiatric care to children, adolescents, and adults
• Determining appropriate levels of care
• Collaborating closely with therapists, dietitians, nursing teams, advanced practice providers, and other healthcare professionals
• Participating in multidisciplinary treatment planning
• Advocating for patients within healthcare and insurance systems
• Completing timely and thorough clinical documentation
• Collaborating with families, support persons, and referring providers as appropriate
• Participating in insurance peer reviews to help optimize treatment duration and outcomes

Direct Patient Care & Professional Expectations

• Practice evidence-based, high-quality psychiatric medicine focused on exceptional patient care and outcomes
• Support patient understanding, engagement, and shared decision-making
• Maintain complete, accurate, and timely medical records
• Collaborate with clinical leadership, physicians, treatment teams, families, and referring providers
• Promote a culture of respect, collaboration, and clinical excellence
• Support organizational goals related to quality, compliance, outcomes, and patient satisfaction
• Participate in continuing education, staff training, and professional development
• Serve as a clinical resource, teacher, and mentor to members of the multidisciplinary team

Schedule & Call Expectations

This is a full-time, onsite position in Austin, Texas . During the week, physicians provide call coverage for their own patients as needed . There is no weekend call requirement for this role , as weekend coverage from Friday through Sunday is managed by the Plano, Texas on-call physician.

Required Qualifications

• Doctor of Medicine (MD) or Doctor of Osteopathic Medicine (DO)
• Completion of an accredited Psychiatry Residency Program or equivalent training
• General Psychiatry training required
• Child & Adolescent Psychiatry fellowship training is NOT required
• Must be willing and comfortable treating children, adolescents, and adults
• Board Certified or Board Eligible in Psychiatry
• Licensed to practice medicine in Texas or eligible for Texas licensure
• Maintain all required certifications, licensure, and registrations

The compensation range for this position is based upon candidate experience and market expectations.

Colorado pay range

$242,000—$275,000 USD
