Litigation Paralegal – West Chester, PA

A well-established Chester County law firm located in downtown West Chester, PA is seeking an experienced, highly organized, and proactive Litigation Paralegal to join our firm.

This is a unique opportunity for a paralegal who enjoys taking ownership of their work and being actively involved in every stage of the litigation process. The successful candidate will serve as the litigation paralegal to an attorney with a busy Orphans' Court and civil litigation practice throughout the Philadelphia collar counties. The position offers substantial responsibility for a proactive individual seeking autonomy within a collaborative paralegal/attorney working relationship. The candidate would have direct involvement with clients from inception through resolution of the matters they handle.

The ideal candidate is detail-oriented, possesses excellent communication and organizational skills, and thrives in a fast-paced environment while managing multiple priorities independently.

Responsibilities Include:

• Provide comprehensive litigation support throughout all phases of litigation, from case inception through trial, settlement, and post-judgment proceedings.
• Serve as the attorney's primary paralegal, managing all aspects of litigation support and helping ensure cases progress efficiently and deadlines are met.
• Maintain the attorney's litigation calendar, monitor court deadlines, schedule hearings, depositions, mediations, and client meetings, and ensure timely follow-up on all matters.
• Assist with client intake, case evaluation, file organization, and ongoing case management.
• Draft, proofread, and prepare pleadings, motions, petitions, discovery requests and responses, correspondence, subpoenas, and other legal documents.
• Prepare, file, and serve documents with state and local courts throughout the Philadelphia collar counties.
• Organize and maintain pleadings, exhibits, discovery materials, evidence, and electronic case files.
• Coordinate all phases of discovery, including document collection, production, and management.
• Conduct legal and factual research as needed.
• Assist with witness preparation, exhibit preparation, trial notebooks, and courtroom logistics.
• Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, court personnel, experts, and third parties.
• Actively participate in all aspects of the attorney's Orphans' Court and civil litigation practice while serving as a trusted member of the legal team.

Requirements:

• Prior litigation paralegal experience.
• Experience with Orphans' Court practice is preferred.
• Strong knowledge of Pennsylvania litigation procedures, court rules, pleadings, discovery, motion practice, and filing requirements.
• Exceptional organizational and time-management skills with the ability to independently prioritize competing deadlines.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and commitment to producing accurate, high-quality work.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and legal case management software.
• Ability to learn new technology and adapt to evolving office procedures.
• Paralegal certificate, associate degree, or equivalent legal experience preferred.
