Radiology - CT Tech

CT TechnologistFollowing established protocol and under the medical supervision of certified radiologists, CT technologists will produce computerized tomography scanner radiographs of designated anatomical areas as ordered by the physician. Technologists will assist the radiologists with procedures as needed and be responsible for supervising student Radiologic Technologists assigned to them. Maintaining good customer relations is essential. Responsibilities include the care and safety of patients during imaging procedures utilizing age-appropriate care. Clinical staff will perform procedures based on the direct results of interpretations. Obtaining the correct written order for procedures is necessary. Efficient use of time is expected to accomplish patient care assignments while meeting work quality, quantity, and timeliness expectations. Assisting in the clinical education of student technologists is part of the role. Efficient utilization of imaging equipment is crucial, with an emphasis on minimizing repeat examinations. Attention to cost containment when using supplies is necessary. Instructing and preparing patients regarding imaging procedures is required. Assisting in obtaining informed consent as needed is part of the job. Ensuring patients understand the procedures and communicating with family members regarding discharge instructions is vital. Correct orders, diagnoses, and clinical histories must be entered into the computer system. Effective communication with radiologists regarding procedures is essential. Adhering to safety policies and procedures is expected. Practicing good radiation protection and following established guidelines is mandatory. Maintaining confidentiality of medical and sensitive information is crucial. Promoting the mission and values of the organization is a priority. Assisting other team members as necessary and maintaining records, reports, and files is part of the job. Flexibility and accountability in job duties are important. This position requires frequently standing and walking. Frequent lifting and moving of patients is common. The role involves exposure to blood, body fluids, and potential infectious materials. Practicing radiation safety in accordance with principles is required. Working under stressful conditions, deadlines, or irregular hours may be necessary.
