Role: IT Project Manager
Location: Onsite in San Antonio, TX (78259)
Contract Duration: 6+ Months
Key Responsibilities
- Manages assigned IT projects to ensure adherence to budget, schedule, and scope of project.
- Looking for an experienced technical manager who has a good track record of delivering Databricks projects.
- This person will be the helping us plan and execute various activities of Databricks Migration work working closely with Internal and external stakeholders.
- Provides direction and is responsible for technical projects including project planning and estimation, requirements gathering, analysis, design, coding, testing and implementation.
- Develops, maintains, and revises project documentation for assigned projects including project objectives, technologies, systems, information specifications, timelines, funding, and staffing.
- Develops and maintains project artifacts including but not limited to scope, schedule, budget, resource, stakeholder and status.
- Sets and tracks project milestones; manages and accounts for unforeseen delays, then realigns schedules and expectations as needed.
- Establishes and implements project communication plans, providing status updates to affected staff and stakeholders.
- Collects, analyzes, and summarizes information and trends as needed to prepare project status reports.
- Acts as a liaison between the department and project stakeholders to effectively manage assigned projects.
- Communicates project related objectives, processes, issues and status to project sponsors and IT Management.
- Identifies and executes items needed to ensure the business is ready for implementation (change readiness, go live communications, etc.).
- Keeps stakeholders informed of issues, risks and dependencies.
- Responsible for communicating, tracking, and monitoring value realization.
Qualifications
- Experience managing enterprise-scale data lake, data warehouse, and analytics platform migrations to Databricks, including governance, security, performance optimization, and organizational change management.
- Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Strong understanding of data platforms, cloud technologies (Azure), and data engineering best practices.
- Experience leading cross-functional teams in complex technical transformation initiatives.
- Expertise in project planning, risk management, dependency tracking, and stakeholder communications.
- Ability to translate technical requirements into actionable project plans and executive-level updates.
