Project Engineer / Assistant Project Manager

Overview Dicon Corporation is seeking a Project Engineer to join our growing team in Omaha. This position plays a key role in supporting the successful delivery of commercial construction projects by working closely with Project Managers, Superintendents, subcontractors, architects, and owners throughout all phases of construction. The Project Engineer will gain hands-on , scheduling, budgeting, document control, and client communication while contributing to a wide variety of commercial construction projects. This position offers a clear career path toward Project Manager and Senior Project Manager roles. Responsibilities Manage project documentation including contracts, submittals, change orders, RFIs (Requests for Information), meeting minutes, and progress reports to maintain project organization and accountability. Coordinate with subcontractors, suppliers, architects, engineers, and internal teams to ensure seamless project execution and timely resolution of project issues. Monitor construction activities to help ensure compliance with project plans, specifications, quality standards, and safety requirements. Utilize Sage, Procore, Bluebeam, and Microsoft Office tools for document control, communication, reporting, and project coordination. Assist with project scheduling, budgeting, cost tracking, procurement activities, and project closeout documentation. Participate in project meetings, maintain meeting records, and communicate action items to project stakeholders. Support Project Managers and Superintendents in maintaining project schedules, budgets, and client relationships. Conduct periodic site visits to monitor progress, verify work completed, and assist with problem-solving in the field. Qualifications Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work effectively with owners, architects, engineers, subcontractors, and team members. Excellent organizational and time-management abilities with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks and meet deadlines. Strong problem-solving and critical-thinking skills. Ability to read and interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents. Detail-oriented with a commitment to quality and accuracy. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications. Experience with Procore, Bluebeam, Sage, or similar construction software is preferred. Previous construction industry experience, internship experience, or project coordination experience is preferred.
