Founded in 2010 by William and Adrienne Vanderbloemen, the company was started out of a deep passion for local churches that would have pastoral vacancies for years, thus minimizing their effectiveness in their communities. After pastoring for 15 years and then working as a corporate Executive Search Consultant, William believed there was a better way to help churches move through this transition. Vanderbloemen now has over 30 employees working for the firm. We have successfully completed more than 3,000 searches in 49 of the 50 states in the U.S. and eight countries around the world. While Vanderbloemen can staff any position at any size organization, the bulk of our work is made up of searches for senior-level staff. Searches involving Senior Pastor succession are an area of particular expertise. In addition to search work, the firm also provides services in staff consulting, succession planning, diversity consulting, and compensation analysis.About the Operations and Technology ManagerThe Operations/Tech Manager will oversee the Operations Team as well as provide support to Directors, Consultants, and Team Leads by handling a variety of technical tasks. The Operations/Tech Manager should work to ensure all interactions between the organization and others are positive and productive. This role requires strong multitasking abilities, excellent written and verbal communication skills, and a proactive, can-do attitude. The Operations/Tech Manager will have a genuine desire to serve others and will demonstrate this through assistance with writing projects, document creation, and operational support. Proficiency in G Suite and comfort with both verbal and written communication are essential. The Operations and Technology Manager's responsibilities include: The Operations/Tech Manager plays a critical role in optimizing and streamlining our search processes. This individual serves as the backbone of our search operations, ensuring efficiency, accuracy, and a seamless experience for our consultants, clients, and candidates. In addition to managing the day-to-day operational aspects of our search engagements and supporting our executive search consultants, the Operations/Tech Manager is also responsible for mentoring and developing our team of Operations Coordinators, equipping them to grow in their roles and contribute to the success of the organization. Finally, the Operations/Tech Manager will be responsible for the company tech stack and all IT needs of the business. Supervise the Operations Coordinators. Oversight of the quality and consistency of materials distributed by the Operations Team. Conduct regular one-on-one meetings with each Operations Coordinator. Project management of innovative team initiatives. Creating and updating Standard Operating Procedures. Holding team accountable for accuracy and correct following of SOPs. Collaboration with other company teams to ensure operational excellence across the business. Lead department meetings and galvanize team members around shared goals and team priorities.This role also has ownership over the company’s tech stack and the company’s IT needs, ensuring the smooth and efficient operation of all our IT systems.Develop and implement technology solutions: Analyze company needs. Assist in the development, implementation, and troubleshooting of hardware and software solutions, coordinating with contractors when needed.Technical proficiency: Capable of doing basic programming and coding for software solutions that will improve the business.Optimize and maintain systems: Test and optimize the functionality of all tech systems, performing routine hardware and software maintenance.Manage IT resources: Oversee the inventory of all hardware and software licenses, ensuring efficient utilization.Provide user support: Deliver onboarding and offboarding IT support, assisting users with technical inquiries and training.Stay ahead of the curve: Research new, emerging trends and technologies that can benefit our organization, clients, and candidates. Propose solutions to improve efficiency.Plan and deliver training: Deliver user-friendly training programs on new systems and technologies.Creation of dashboards: Work with team managers to create team-oriented dashboards that measure employee performance.Project management: Liaise with outsourced tech experts as needed. Oversee projects and get input from key stakeholders in order to realize leadership’s vision.Goals & ExpectationsTeam Leadership & Development Provide consistent supervision and mentorship to the Operations Coordinators, including conducting regular one-on-one meetings to ensure alignment, growth, and support. Maintain a culture of excellence, ownership, and accountability within the Operations Team. Identify opportunities for training and development, equipping team members to contribute effectively to search processes.Operational Excellence Ensure all search deliverables (e.g., Search Profiles, Job Postings, Blind Resumes, Candidate Summaries) are produced with a high degree of accuracy, clarity, and consistency. Establish and maintain quality control processes for all client-facing materials generated by the Operations Team.Project & Process Management Oversee the operational timeline for each search, from opening to closing, ensuring that all components are delivered on time and to standard. Manage the flow of search components such as candidate documentation, assessments (DISC, Culture Tool, VanderIndex), background checks, and surveys.Communication & Collaboration Serve as a proactive support partner to Search Directors, Consultants, and Team Leads, ensuring they have what they need at every stage of the search process. Model excellent verbal and written communication and ensure all team communication with candidates, clients, and staff reflects professionalism and clarity. Continuous Improvement Regularly evaluate and improve internal processes to increase operational efficiency, enhance the client and candidate experience, and support the scalability of the team. Proactively identify gaps or inefficiencies in workflows and suggest or implement improvements.What you bring Education A bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university is preferred, or equivalent professional experience in operations, administration, or a related field.Experience/Skills An Operations Manager should be a highly organized, proactive, and solutions-oriented leader who thrives on creating structure and improving processes.
