Senior Mechanical Estimator

Snapshot / Role Overview:
We're seeking a Senior Mechanical Estimator in Austin, TX to prepare and coordinate detailed cost estimates for large, complex commercial mechanical projects.

- Reduce bid risk by identifying scope gaps and incorporating appropriate contingencies
- Improve estimating accuracy through disciplined use of historical cost and productivity data
- Support smooth project transitions from preconstruction to field operations

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and lead the total estimating effort on complex mechanical project bids
- Review specifications, drawings, and attend pre-bid meetings to determine full scope of work
- Prepare complete mechanical takeoffs using estimating software
- Identify scope gaps in design documents and coordinate with engineering for clarification
- Incorporate quality control, safety, and schedule requirements into bid pricing
- Develop estimate summary packages with qualifications, clarifications, and exclusions
- Coordinate with field operations teams for thorough bid-to-project transitions
- Mentor junior estimators and support preconstruction team development
