Controller

Soni is working with a growing client to hire a hands-on Controller who will oversee all accounting operations, implement scalable financial processes, and ensure compliance with reporting standards. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment and enjoys improving systems, managing teams, and driving results.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the day-to-day accounting operations including general ledger, month-end close, AP/AR, payroll, and reconciliations
• Own financial reporting and ensure timely and accurate delivery of monthly, quarterly, and annual financials
• Maintain internal controls and ensure compliance with GAAP and company policies
• Work closely with leadership on budgeting, forecasting, and financial planning
• Manage audits, tax filings, and coordinate with external accountants or consultants as needed
• Oversee and mentor accounting staff, promoting best practices and efficiency
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and systems, including automation and new software tools

Qualifications:

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance (CPA preferred)
• 7+ years of progressive accounting experience, including supervisory responsibilities
• Strong understanding of GAAP and financial reporting standards
• Proven ability to lead a close process and manage multiple priorities
• Experience in [insert relevant industry if applicable: e.g., professional services, SaaS, real estate, etc.]
• Proficient in accounting software and Excel; experience with ERP systems a plus
• Detail-oriented, analytical, and confident working directly with executive leadership

Compensation: $140,000 - $160,000
Salary is based on a range of factors that include relevant experience, knowledge, skills, other job-related qualifications.
