Mergers & Acquisitions Associate Attorney

Direct Counsel is seeking a Mergers & Acquisitions Associate Attorney to join a prestigious law firm with a sophisticated corporate practice. This opportunity is based in Boston, MA .

Position Overview

The firm is seeking an attorney with 3–7 years of M&A experience to advise sophisticated clients on a broad range of transactional matters. The ideal candidate will have strong experience drafting and negotiating transaction documents, managing deal processes and client relationships, and overseeing junior attorneys.

Responsibilities

• Advise clients on sophisticated mergers and acquisitions transactions .
• Draft, review, and negotiate definitive transaction documents and ancillary agreements .
• Manage transaction processes from initial structuring through closing.
• Serve as a key point of contact for clients and help manage ongoing client relationships .
• Coordinate with opposing counsel, clients, advisors, and other professionals throughout transactions.
• Handle the day-to-day workflow and demands associated with multiple M&A matters.
• Supervise and mentor junior associates .
• Conduct legal research and provide strategic legal analysis on complex transactional issues.
• Collaborate with attorneys across relevant practice areas to support clients' transactional objectives.

Qualifications

• 3–7 years of experience practicing in mergers and acquisitions.
• Strong M&A transactional skills and experience handling sophisticated matters.
• Demonstrated experience drafting and negotiating definitive and ancillary transaction documents .
• Experience managing deal processes and client relationships.
• Experience supervising junior associates.
• Ability to manage multiple matters and competing deadlines while maintaining a high level of work product.
• Strong analytical, drafting, negotiation, and communication skills.
• High level of academic achievement from a nationally recognized law school.

Compensation

$260,000 – $420,000 annually , with the final offer dependent on geographic location, experience, and skillset.
