Uses doppler to quantitate and localize abnormalities when needed. Strictly obeys isolation and infection control procedures as outlined in the hospital infection control manual. Responds appropriately to situations requiring immediate action and judgment in patient care. Coordinates exams with other departments to facilitate efficient scheduling and minimize patient waiting. Informs patients of proper preps, arrival, and exam times to minimize unnecessary schedule delays. Plans, organizes, and implements work assignments efficiently and productively. Observes patients during exams and reports any unusual occurrences to nursing and/or physicians. Performs exams in accordance with established departmental guidelines to aid physicians in diagnosis and treatment of patients. Acts as a liaison with physicians and their office staff to expedite procedures and results. Verifies requested procedures by referring to the chart and contacts the appropriate person if there are discrepancies. Performs other duties as assigned.
