RN Position Job Notes:

Travel or Local Registered Nurse needed for ASAP start. A minimum of 2+ years of recent hospital bedside experience is required. Candidates must be able to start within 5 weeks. Opportunity for extension upon successful completion of the initial assignment. $750 referral bonus available.

Job Details:

• Work 3x12 night shifts from 7:00 PM to 7:00 AM on weekdays with some weekends

• Typically maintain 1:4 patient ratio, may flex to 1:5 ratio during emergencies

• 13-week contract with possible extension

• Blocked schedules considered for weekend blocks only (Fri-Sat-Sun or Sat-Sun-Mon)

• Limited to no more than 2 holiday RTO requests out of 4 major holidays

• Minimum 2 years RN experience required

• 1 year MS/Tele experience and 2 years Stepdown experience required

• Must be able to read telemetry strips

• Required certifications: BCLS, ACLS (American Heart Association)

• Skills required: IV start, telemetry monitoring

• Must wear burgundy and/or white scrubs (not provided)

• Work with Cerner EMR system

• 8 hours of orientation required

• Average 8 hours of non-billable modules to be completed prior to start

• Care for adult and geriatric patients with varying acuity levels

• Unit census of 34 patients with 36 beds

• Primary focus on cardiac patients including post-cardiac surgery and interventional cardiology procedures

Facility:

This medical center operates a 36-bed Stepdown/Immediate Care Unit that serves as a progressive care environment for patients requiring closer monitoring than general medical-surgical units but less intensive than ICU care. The facility specializes in cardiac care with patients primarily consisting of those recovering from cardiac surgery or interventional cardiology procedures, along with general medical-surgical patients. The unit provides comprehensive interdisciplinary support including IV teams, physical therapy, respiratory services, pharmacy, and rapid response teams to ensure quality patient care.
